Researchers will gather May 15-19, 2017, for the 60th Annual Conference on Great Lakes Research, to be held at Cobo Center along the restored Detroit International Riverfront. Proposals on any topic related to Great Lakes research are welcome; however, we especially encourage sessions related to our theme, From Cities to Farms: Shaping Great Lakes Ecosystems. IAGLR Honors Dr. Ron Hites with Lifetime Achievement Award

IAGLR recently honored Dr. Ronald A. Hites, a professor at Indiana University, with the 2016 IAGLR Lifetime Achievement Award. Hites has made seminal contributions to IAGLR, the Great Lakes community, and the discipline of environmental organic chemistry; notably in the areas of mass spectrometry and the detection, sources, transformations, time trends, and fate of atmospherically derived organic pollutants in rivers and lakes.

More than 600 participants will spend the week in Guelph, networking with colleagues and delivering more than 500 oral and poster presentations highlighting scientific findings in the areas of freshwater health and management.

IAGLR Hockey 2016

At this year’s IAGLR Conference in Guelph, Ontario, a hockey challenge will take place: Canada versus United States.  Ice time is reserved at the Gryphon Center (Gold Arena) on Wednesday, June 8, from 4-6 pm.  If you are interested in playing in what is billed to be an exciting test of international collaboration, then please contact Michael Twiss (mtwiss@clarkson.edu) with your nationality, and preferred position.  Teams are created with the intention of maximizing the skill equality.  A nominal fee will be assessed for each player and coaching staff to cover ice time and go towards the cash prize to the winning team; who will have the honor/honour of donating it to the IAGLR Scholarship fund!
